Warfighter Skills Academics

Warfighter Skills Academics. The purpose of this project was to highlight some of the fundamentals highlighted in ATP 3-04.1 Aviation Tactical Employment. The slides are displayed on a 70 inch monitor in the student break area as a reinforcement to classroom instruction. All images are free of known copyright restrictions.
As you can see on the first slide for the fundamentals of security we are using the Acronym MOPPP. This slide highlights the M maintain enemy contact, and it gives a brief definition along with the reference, which is present on all of the slides.
For this slide I chose to use a picture of AH-64's operating with a seaborne force. It's uncommon for the Army to support beach landings, so the graphic showing Army Aviation supporting the Navy gives the students something else to think about.
This photo was chosen because of the vast amount of information that can be retrieved from the image. It gives the student an opportunity to see just how difficult it can be to provide that early and accurate warning.
The image seemed to be a good example of an aircrew that is always watching.
This image of an AH-64D firing the 30MM canon seemed to be a good introduction to fundamentals of reconnaissance. Gain and maintain enemy contact.
I chose this image to reiterate the point that aviation is there to support the ground forces.
While many times we want the reconnaissance force to be seen, sometimes we want to hide them in the trees.
This image may stick out, it's the first one that is not an AH-64 (Attack Helicopter). The purpose was to highlight that all Army Aviation assets are reconnaissance assets as well.
This image is over the streets of Bagdad, it highlights some of the reconnaissance capabilities given to the ground commander.
This image is of an aircraft deploying flares as a decoy for man portable missiles. Noting that the situation can change in the blink of an eye.
Image chose to show an aircraft conducting reconnaissance operations.
Always supporting the soldier on the ground.
Image of a UH-60 that will need to be recovered due to a forced landing. The tall trees illustrate some of the difficulties that may be encountered during a DART mission.
Supporting ground forces, and landing zone considerations.
Hellfire launch from AH-64 to represent firing position considerations.
The shadow of the OH-58D Kiowa Warrior (KW) seemed fitting for the conclusion slide. The last KW was retired late last year from the Army.
